Without reducing instructional contact hours, we have slightly compressed the dates of our Spring 2022 semester to 89 days.  With this calendar fitting within the 90-day limit for Americans to travel to Italy without need for a visa, this allows American students the convenience of travelling to Italy without the need for visa paperwork, which is a slightly more cumbersome process amidst covid-19 restrictions. 

For students of other nationalities, you can consult the portal of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to determine if you need a visa for a stay in Italy of less than 90 days:

Spring Semester 2022 (Tuesday Feb 1 - Saturday April 30, 2022) 
Application deadline Nov 1

• Jan 24-28: Pre-departure online orientation meetings and Italian language intro.
• Feb 1: Students meet the school staff at Florence’s Peretola Airport. We ask that students arrive by 2pm in time to meet staff at the arrivals area by 3pm at the latest.  Note: For U.S. students this means catching a flight on Monday Jan 31 to arrive to Italy on Feb 1.
• Feb 2-5: Orientation & Intensive Italian intro
• February 11: Intensive Italian exam
• February 14: Elective Courses begin
• March 21-24: Midterm exams and critiques
• April 24: End-of-Semester Exhibition Inauguration 4-6pm
• April 25-27: Final Exams and Critiques
• April 28: Final Dinner
• April 29-30: Departure (You are responsible for your own return transportation.)
