Artist's Talk & Open Studio March 22 with Resident Artist Richard Zeiss

Tuesday March 22 6pm: Join us for an artist's talk and open studio with our current artist-in-residence, Richard Zeiss.  The event will be in-person at the Siena Art Institute as well as live-streaming on the Siena Art Institute's Facebook page and YouTube channel.

  Free and open to the public, the presentation will be in English.  For the in-person event, the Covid vaccination "Green Pass" is required and space is limited so reservations are recommended. (info@sienaart.org)

Richard Zeiss was born in Vienna, Austria, and lives in London, UK. During his month-long residency at the Siena Art Institute, Richard has been inspired by the history of Sienese art to create a series of panel paintings using traditional materials such as gold leaf.

Richard Zeiss's work has been exhibited internationally, including solo shows with Georg Kargl Fine Arts (Vienna), Gallery Asbæk/AAC (Copenhagen), and Da Wang Culture Highland (Shenzhen). He participated at the 2019 Lagos Biennial and in 2021 exhibited with Razklon Gallery in Bulgaria. He was featured at Frieze Art Fair (London), ARCO (Madrid), and AKAA (Paris). Richard has received Arts Council England’s International Research/Development grant as part of the collaborative duo Duck & Rabbit Projects with Arlene Wandera for their project in Johannesburg. In 2021, he was shortlisted for the Fondation François Schneider Purchase Prize for his 16mm film “For Agnes & The Sea (No.220)”.
