A new Tempo Zulu art intervention in Siena

The "Tempo Zulu Walk" led by artist Bernardo Giorgi has long been part of the Art & Society activities that all our Siena Art Institute students take part in. Walking through Siena's streets, our students are invited to discover these site-specific interventions, observing and commenting the many, interesting ways they interact with the city.

The project was ideated and launched in 2004 by Francesco Carone, Bernardo Giorgi, Gregorio Galli and Christian Posani. In the years it involved 11 contemporary artists who authored one urban art piece each, recently become property of the Municipality of Siena. And in these last months of 2023 a new work of art was added to this already impressive collection.

"Piccolo Cantico (Echoes)" by Loris Cecchini is made of two pieces, called "echoes". The first one, whose creation was funded by the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena for the RESET 2022 project, has been installed in the town of Sinalunga. The second has been installed in piazza San Giovanni in Siena and will be presented on December the 30th, 5.00 P.M. in the museum of the Contrada della Selva. The event is free and open to the public.
