SART is proud to present the PEACE ROOM 26 Spring Show. The event presents the results of a semester of work of our School of Art and School of Liberal Arts students, sharing with the community both the outcome of classes as well as a series of reflections on the main themes of THE PEACE ROOM26: Art & Memory, Art & Society, Art & Statements, and Art & Mycorrhiza.
Each young artist and student has elaborated one or more pieces of art that encapsulate both their personal artistic view and the reflections developed during the semester, resulting from classwork, mentoring and their reciprocal interaction. Throughout the semester, participants reinforced their practice, exploring in full depth the themes they had already worked on or generating something completely new: and some of them even created a new collective.
The PEACE ROOM 26 Spring Show will display this evolution in full, enriched by interaction with the viewer. The works explore loss, isolation and connection, queer identity, time and tension, the human body as an instrument for communication, mythology, and much more. During the event, participants will also present the products of three months of classes: metal arts pieces, as well as clay works, drawings and mixed media paintings, video works, book arts, and much more, all created during the semester.

The show will remain on view until the afternoon of Wednesday, April 22, during the Siena Art Institute’s opening hours.
THE PEACE ROOM Documentary
The Show will also feature the first public screening of the video documentary The Peace Room, following the first edition of the project, featuring the art pieces made for the three public shows/themes of the first edition: Care, Truth, and Futures. The 10-minute documentary also contains interviews with the participants, offering more in-depth insight into their artistic processes and the impact the project has had on their lives and work as young artists from different backgrounds and countries of origin.
Spiando l’arte – Spying Art
Furthermore, a group of students from the local high school Liceo Piccolomini will present their short documentary film “Spiando l’arte – Spying Art” about the first public event of THE PEACE ROOM 26, Happening. The video is the result of a workshop created in collaboration with the Siena Art Institute, where the high school students were involved in the full video-making process. Through a hands-on, experimental approach, the students developed their own vision, building a unique view on the event. After the first public screening the video will be available on the Siena Art Institute’s Youtube page.
Open Studio with artist in residence Thea Gregorius
During the event visitors will be able to also see the work-in-progress of artist Thea Gregorius, in residency at the Siena Art Institute for the month of April 2026. Gregorius’ Open Studio will be open only on Saturday for the duration of the THE PEACE ROOM 26 – Spring Show event, while the rest of the artworks will be on view until Wednesday, April 22, during the Siena Art Institute’s opening hours.
