Sister Organizations
Siena School for Liberal Arts (SSLA)
The Siena Art Institute and the Siena School for Liberal Arts have always worked side-by-side to offer international students the best academic and study abroad experience in the fields of the Humanities, Sustainability and Deaf Studies.
As of 2025 the Siena School for Liberal Arts has brought its programs under the larger umbrella of the Siena Art institute, coordinating and managing them still as its own autonomous legal entity.
Founded in 2004, just like the Siena Art Institute the Siena School for Liberal Arts is a cultural institute committed to running semester and summer programs where study abroad students become a vital part of the school’s ongoing initiatives of cultural and social work.

Art Cloud Greece
Through an ongoing series of interdisciplinary cultural events and projects, ACG aims to spark creative discourses, raising awareness and initiating dialogue between Greece and Italy.
Art Cloud Greece (ACG) is a collaborative platform initiated in 2020 by the Siena Art Institute and its Greek alumni co-funded by the Stavros Niarkos Foundation. It is committed to supporting the diverse local artistic and creative communities, so that they may activate participatory processes in response to contemporary social, civic and environmental challenges. Through an ongoing series of interdisciplinary cultural events and projects, ACG aims to spark creative discourses, raising awareness and initiating dialogue. By empowering community engagement, it intends to foster inclusion, stimulate learning and encourage cultural exchange within the contemporary context of Athens, Thessaloniki, and other urban and rural areas of Greece.

Mason Perkins Deafness Fund Onlus (MPDFonlus)
The Mason Perkins Deafness Fund Onlus has been working since 1985 to support deaf and deafblind people, fostering inclusion through the enhancement and promotion of Italian Sign Language and Deaf culture.
As a non profit organization, MPDFonlus aims to achieve this through the design of accessible cultural events, the production of educational materials, the training of professionals working for and with the Deaf community and the creation of a national and international network of professionals to foster knowledge exchange.
Thanks to its collaboration with MPDFonlus, the Siena Art Institute is able to access professional resources that help dramatically improve the quality of its sign languages and deaf culture academic offerings.
Network & Alliances
The New European Bauhaus (NEB)
Since 2024, the Siena Art Institute has been a proud Partner of the New European Bauhaus.
The NEB is a policy and funding initiative from the European Commission aiming at establishing practices that put together the creative, scientific and community dimension of architectural, artistic, urbanistic, community engagement and sustainability projects. As a partner of the New European Bauhaus, these ideals guide most of the Siena Art Institute’s urban regeneration and architectural projects.
The Community Hub - Culture Ibride of Siena (CH)
The Siena Art Institute is part of the Community Hub, network ideated and managed by Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, since its beginnings in 2018.
The CH gathers institutions, cooperatives and other non/profits focusing on social impact together with organisations focusing on the promotion of culture and the arts with the aim of exploring the concept of Cultural Welfare or, in other words, the effect of cultural initiatives and participation on health and well-being.
Comunità di pratica RESET - Sustainability working group
The Sustainability working group within the RESET initiative by Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena is a partnership of culture and art-focused organisations engaged in reducing the environmental impact of their operations.
The Siena Art Institute has been leading the co-design and implementation of different projects: Don’t Fear the Dark / Non ho paura del buio, focusing on light pollution, and Florère – Seminare pratiche di sostenibilità, a study on the way users and communities react to sustainability awareness campaigns and strategies to reduce environmental impact in cultural events.

La Rete degli Orti in Siena
Since 2021, the Siena Art Institute has been part of the Rete degli Orti network, which links the so-called green valleys of Siena and the Ortomangione CSA (the first to be established in Tuscany). The network aims at providing support to projects, events and communication campaigns that relate to sustainability awareness in our region.

The Ohio State University is a large public research institution in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in 1870, it offers a wide range of academic programs and is known for its diverse student body, extensive research initiatives, and strong athletic tradition.
SART has collaborated for the last 10 years on a Summer Art program coordinated and ideated by Prof. Suzanne Silver which from 2026 will also see the participation of Prof. Giuliano Migliori.
Pratt Institute - New York
The Pratt Institute in New York, USA, has been providing students from all around the world with education in the Arts at the highest level for almost 140 years.
The Pratt Institute in New York, USA, has been providing students from all around the world with education in the Arts at the highest level for almost 140 years. Since 2018, thanks to a partnered program with the Siena Art Institute, the Pratt Institute has sent to Siena 15 of its artists and faculty members for 1-month summertime residencies.
School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)
SAIC is one of the few museum schools in the US, distinguished by the high level of its faculty and by its engagement with contemporary societal and cultural issues.
SAIC is one of the few museum schools in the US, distinguished by the high level of its faculty and by its engagement with contemporary societal and cultural issues. Together with the Siena Art Institute, SAIC involves its students in the partnered program “Living the Past in the Present: the Art of Archive”, focusing on an exploration of Siena’s and Italy’s many archives, collections and study centres.
