A song for the Hidden Garden

During her residency at the Siena Art Institute, Sarah Hansen drew inspiration from both the city of Siena, with its rich artistic and musical history, and the Hidden Garden, composing an original song that she presented during the event “Brunch with Sarah Hansen” on February 1st. In her new piece, the singer emphasized the impact of the natural environment on the creativity of its visitors, capable of touching and inspiring those who seek refuge in the shade of its trees, evoking a past of simplicity.

Everybody’s got hopes and dreams

here among the trees

in the whisper of the breeze

Everybody knows the wildness of the night

the choir of the birds

the moon and its return

and in this Garden we won’t grow apart

dear, dear Garden we walk in your heart

and in this Garden we won’t grow apart

During the brunch event, Sarah also treated the audience to a live performance of songs from her album Gather Up Your Days, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar. Visitors were also encouraged to reflect on the nature of green spaces, noting things they typically expect to see in a garden but rarely encounter.
