Funded by the Ministry of Culture as part of the PNRR and the Next Generation EU program, the project offers a free training program designed for those working in live performance, visual arts, and cultural heritage sectors. The training has been designed as a modular path, making it customizable based on the needs of each individual or institution. The topics covered include:
Sustainable materials, design, and setups, with a focus on selecting ecological materials and reuse strategies.
Lighting management and reducing light pollution to make technical solutions in cultural events more efficient.
Environmental requirements and certifications for events, with in-depth coverage of the Minimum Environmental Criteria and key green certifications.
Logistics and services for the public, to optimize transport, reception, and resource management.
Communication strategies and sustainable branding, essential for spreading a culture of sustainability among the audience.
Accessibility and environmental sustainability, an integrated approach to making events inclusive and environmentally respectful.
Each topic is approached practically, providing operational tools and case studies for immediate application in the professional context.
The Actions
In addition to the training, the GUESS project includes two key initiatives to support the cultural sector:
Mapping of local skills: A survey among local entities to gather experiences, difficulties, and best practices already in place. Questionnaires, interviews, and meetings aim to create a clear picture of needs and opportunities.
A guide to cultural sustainability: An operational guide and detailed checklists will help organizers and operators integrate ecological practices into their events, facilitating the adoption of sustainable solutions.
