Scott Gutterman writes about music and art for Vogue, Artforum, The New Yorker, and other publications, and is the co-author, with Miles Davis, of Miles Davis: The Collected Artwork. Since 2000, he has served as Deputy Director of the Neue Galerie New York, overseeing museum administration and coordinating loans, catalogues, and programming for exhibitions devoted to early twentieth-century Austrian and German art, including major projects on Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, and German Expressionism. He previously held senior roles at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the Morgan Library, and Art & Antiques, and has written as a freelancer since the 1980s. He lives in Brooklyn.
