Richard Zeiss

Spring 2022

Richard Zeiss is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice investigates the idea of art as a form of non-verbal knowledge. Working with semantically charged materials-such as egg tempera on tarpaulin and hand-developed 16mm film-he constructs fragmented and often conflicting narratives that challenge conventional modes of perception. His work spans painting, installation, video, and writing, combining material experimentation with conceptual inquiry. Through these diverse media, Zeiss explores how visual language can disrupt established structures of meaning and thought.
