Monica Bock is an American sculptor and installation artist whose work explores themes of home, vulnerability, and human connection through material transformation and narrative objects. Working with materials ranging from porcelain and iron to ephemeral substances like salt and soap, she creates evocative site-specific installations and sculptural environments. Bock is a Professor of Art at the University of Connecticut, where she leads the ceramics program and has developed metal casting and fabrication curricula. Her work has been exhibited widely, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, and Real Art Ways in Hartford, as well as internationally. She has received numerous awards, including an Arts Midwest/NEA Regional Visual Arts Fellowship, and holds degrees from Oberlin College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
