Mairéad Byrne is an Irish-born poet who emigrated to the United States in 1994 and is Professor of Poetry + Poetics at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her books include You Have to Laugh: New and Selected Poems, Talk Poetry, and SOS Poetry, along with collaborative projects with visual artists. Her work bridges experimental poetics, performance, and visual culture, reflecting a practice shaped by migration, humor, and interdisciplinary exchange
