kerry ryan nyc
Kerry Ryan is a multidisciplinary artist and educator working primarily in video and performance. Originally from the United States, Ryan earned her MFA from the Pratt Institute and began exhibiting in alternative spaces and museums shortly thereafter. Her work has been shown at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, NY, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA, the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, OH, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN. Her most recent solo project, Choreographies of the Ordinary, was presented at the Kitchen, New York, NY in 2023.
Ryan has received fellowships and awards from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Creative Capital, and the Joan Mitchell Foundation. She has been artist-in-residence at Yaddo, Skowhegan, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Over the past decade, Ryan has lectured and taught media arts and performance studies at institutions including NYU, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Rutgers University. She currently teaches video and time-based media at the Pratt Institute.
