Indrapramit Roy

Indrapramit Roy (born 1964, Kolkata) is an Indian painter and educator known for evocative watercolours and mixed-media works that explore memory, space and the emotional presence of everyday scenes. He trained in art at Visva-Bharati University (BFA, Printmaking) and Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MFA, Painting), and completed an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London on an Inlaks Scholarship, with study terms in Paris and Berlin.Roy has shown his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in India and internationally, including major art events such as the Cairo Biennale and art fairs like the India Art Fair. His paintings have been exhibited in cities ranging from New Delhi and Mumbai to London and New York. Since 1995 he has taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Baroda, where he is an Associate Professor and Dean of Students, mentoring young artists while continuing his creative practice. His work is recognised for its contemplative quality and psychological depth.
