Elaine Sexton is an American poet, writer, and visual artist and the author of Site Specific: New & Selected Poems (Grid Books, 2025). Her previous poetry collections include Drive, Prospect/Refuge, Causeway, and Sleuth. Her poems and art writing have appeared in major publications such as Poetry, Ploughshares, American Poetry Review, and Art in America. Sexton is also a librettist and book artist, known for creating limited-edition chapbooks and site-specific literary projects. She teaches poetry and text-and-image at Sarah Lawrence College and is the editor and publisher of the micro press Em Dash Books.
