Professor Antonia Liguori is a world-leading expert in digital storytelling and participatory methods, with a focus on environmental and social challenges, public policy, and community engagement. She joined Teesside University in 2024 as Professor of Participatory Storytelling and Public Policy and Co-Director of the Institute for Collective Place Leadership.Her research explores how inclusive storytelling practices can amplify diverse voices, drive structural change, and enhance public understanding of cultural and environmental issues. With an academic background in history and computer science, Antonia has led international projects across education, heritage, and interdisciplinary research.Before her UK academic career at Loughborough University (2014–2023), she directed multimedia initiatives at BAICR Sistema Cultura in Italy. In 2018, she was awarded an AHRC Fellowship at the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access in Washington, DC.
