The Siena Art Institute’s post-baccalaureate and undergraduate programs are committed to:

by choosing only highly qualified faculty and staff, being guided by the Standards of Good Practice of the Forum on Education Abroad, following the guidelines established by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and accepting only students who are performing at the highest levels academically and artistically;

Promoting social awareness and responsible action
by providing service-learning opportunities and promoting discussion about international differences in approaching social needs;

Encouraging multicultural citizenship and international awareness
by promoting dialogue between our artists and people from all over the world who live and work in Italy;

Creating an environment for the exchange of ideas
by responding to our artists’ ideas and inviting international academics, researchers, and guest artists to share their expertise and insight with the Siena Art Institute, the local community, and the University of Siena through conferences, lectures, seminars, and workshops;

Exploring art’s commitment to its social context in a multidisciplinary fashion
by working closely as a team with our instructors, resident artists, and staff to create a stimulating academic, social, and artistic environment for our artists’ intellectual growth;

Building international partnerships between European and American academic and artistic institutions
by working on collaborative artistic and research projects within Italy, Europe, and America, initiated by the the Siena Art Institute and the Siena Cultural Alliance in conjunction with our partner institutions all over the world.
