Un pomeriggio di eventi dedicati ad arte contemporanea, sostenibilità e cultura sorda per festeggiare l’apertura di “Il Punto|The Point”, la nuova sede di Siena Art Institute, Mason Perkins Deafness Fund e Siena School for Liberal Arts!

Prenditi una pausa tra i vari eventi della giornata per incontrare artisti, esperti di sostenibilità e di cultura sorda partecipando a questo rinfrescante aperitivo con vini e prodotti del territorio!

OPEN DAY (15.00 - 17.00):
Iscriviti ai nostri laboratori di ceramica, artigianato orafo, fotografia, orticoltura, scrittura creativa, disegno figurativo, pittura, acquerello e inglese: solo in occasione dell'inaugurazione di Il Punto|The Point potrai incontrare gli insegnanti, visitare le aule e i laboratori e ottenere i nostri sconti speciali per i nuovi iscritti! Inoltre, se sei uno studente, chiedi informazioni sulle borse di studio offerte da Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena per il progetto Space to Make: potresti aver diritto a frequentare alcuni dei nostri corsi in maniera completamente gratuita!

OPEN STUDIO degli artisti in residenza (15.00 - 17.00):
Incontra l'artista gallese esperta di social practice Honey Jones-Hughes o scopri i work in progress dei giovani artisti americani, greci, olandesi e albanesi che studieranno al Siena Art Institute per tutto l'autunno. Il 29 settembre gli artisti del Siena Art Institute aprono le porte dei propri spazi di lavoro al pubblico - un'occasione unica per appassionati di arte e curiosi!

RACCONTI DAL MARGINE: workshop di social practice art con i Bik Van der Poll (17.30 - 19.00). Realizzato con il contributo di Regione Toscana e GiovaniSì per l'iniziativa Toscanaincontemporanea2019:
Come si può usare la creatività per coinvolgere in maniera attiva comunità isolate o marginalizzate come carcerati, anziani, persone con disabilità? Scopritelo con il duo di artisti olandesi Bik Van der Poll durante questo workshop aperto al pubblico ma rivolto in special modo a operatori culturali, community leader e rappresentanti del mondo delle Associazioni giovanili!

LABORATORIO PER BAMBINI PARTE 1: FAVOLE ACCESSIBILI IN LIS E ITALIANO (16.30 - 17.15, su prenotazione):
Lettura accessibile in italiano e LIS (Lingua dei Segni Italiana) della favola “Il Viaggio di Bobo e Campi”, adattamento linguistico e culturale de Il topo di campagna e il topo di città. L’albo illustrato è pubblicato da MPDFonlus e nasce da un percorso innovativo di doppia accessibilità che permette ai bambini sordi di identificarsi nella storia narrata e allo stesso tempo e ai bambini udenti di conoscere la cultura sorda in una narrazione in cui si parla del confronto fra campagna e città come metafora dell’incontro fra culture diverse. Dedicato a tutti i bambini tra i 6 e i 9 anni. A seguire laboratorio all’aperto di bombe di semi (v. sezione “Sostenibilità, ambiente e natura”).

Sostenibilità, ambiente e natura
A cura di Siena Art Institute Onlus e Siena School for Liberal Arts
ORTO CREATIVO (15.00 - 17.00, su prenotazione):
Costruisci e adotta il tuo micro-orto sostenibile in materiale riciclato! Gli esperti di sostenibilità del Siena Art Institute ti guideranno nella costruzione di un kit per micro-orto da balcone utilizzando materiale riciclato donato da Revet SpA. I partecipanti potranno ritirare i loro kit da micro-orto al termine della stagione (dicembre).

LABORATORIO PER BAMBINI PARTE 2: BOMBE DI SEMI (17.30 - 19.00, su prenotazione):
A seguito della lettura curata da Mason Perkins Deafness Fund (v. sezione “Cultura Sorda”), i bambini potranno continuare ad esplorare il mondo di Bobo e Campi con un laboratorio tutto dedicato al rapporto tra città e campagna e al rispetto della natura! Accompagnati da esperti di sostenibilità urbana, i piccoli partecipanti creeranno delle "bombe di semi" da usare per ripopolare parchi e giardini con piante autoctone amiche di farfalle e api.

Join our workshops in ceramics, silversmithing, photography, horticulture, creative writing, drawing, painting, watercolor and English: only at the inauguration of Il Punto | The Point special discounts for new participants will be offered! Moreover, if you are a student, ask for information on scholarships available thanks to the contribution of the Fondazione Mps for the #SpacetoMake project: you may be entitled to attend some of our courses completely free of charge!

OPEN STUDIO of the artist-in-residence (15.00 - 17.00):
Meet the Welsh artist expert in social practice Honey Jones-Hughes or discover the ongoing work of young American, Greek, Dutch and Albanian artists who will study at the Siena Art Institute throughout the fall. On September 29, the artists of the Siena Art Institute open to the public the doors of their art studios - a unique opportunity for art lovers and the curious!

STORIES FROM THE MARGIN: social practice workshop with Bik Van der Pol (5.30 pm - 7.00 pm). Made with the contribution of the Tuscany Region and GiovaniSì for the Toscanaincontemporanea2019 initiative:
How can creativity be used to actively involve isolated or marginalized communities as prisoners, the elderly, people with disabilities? Discover the duo of Dutch artists Bik Van der Pol during this seminar open to the public but especially aimed at cultural operators, community leaders and representatives from the world of youth associations!

KIDS WORKSHOP PART 1: FABLES ACCESSIBLE IN LIS AND ITALIAN (16.30 - 17.15, by reservation):
Accessible reading in Italian and LIS (Italian Sign Language) of the story "The Journey of Bobo & Campi", a linguistic and cultural adaptation of "The City Mouse and the Country Mouse." The illustrated book is published by Mason Perkins Deafness Fund onlus and is the result of an innovative double accessibility path that welcomes Deaf children to identify themselves in the narrated story and at the same time invites hearing children to learn about Deaf culture in a narrative that talks about the confrontation between the countryside and the city as a metaphor for the encounter between different cultures. Designed for all children between 6 and 9 years old. Following by an open-air workshop of seed bombs for kids (see Section "Sustainability, environment and nature").

Sustainability, environment and nature

CREATIVE GARDEN (15.00 - 17.00, by reservation):
Build and adopt your sustainable micro-garden with recycled material! The sustainability experts of the Siena Art Institute will guide the construction of a kit for balcony micro-gardens using recycled material donated by Revet SpA. The participants receive their micro-garden kits at the end of the season (December).

KIDS WORKSHOP PART 2: SEED BOMBS (17.30 - 19.00, by reservation):
Following the reading organized by Mason Perkins Deafness Fund (see Section "Deaf Culture"), the children continue to explore the world of Bobo and Campi with a workshop entirely dedicated to the relationship between city and countryside and respect for nature! Accompanied by experts in urban sustainability, the young participants will create "seed bombs" to be used to repopulate parks and gardens with native butterfly-and-bee-friendly plants.
