Visiting Siena's Weekly Farmer's Market

Every Friday from 7:30am to 2pm is the weekly farmer's market in Siena's Lizza Park, alongside the main bus station of Piazza Gramsci.  Local producers bring all kinds of locally-produced goods, including veggies and fruits, cheeses, meats, baked goods, flowers, wine, cereals, honey, and more!  It's a much smaller event than Siena's big Wednesday market, but it has a great focus on specifically local producers, making it a very special opportunity to connect to the agricultural production which abounds in our local territory.  Obviously the products vary seasonally, with the month of March currently bringing us the first spring flowers, asparagus, and the celebrated marzolino cheese!  In the slideshow above and the gallery below are a few snapshots from the market this morning.
