We are happy to invite you to the last broadcast of our season of #STARTERSLIVE, a conversation in Italian with artist Mikayel Ohanjanyan streaming live from the Siena Art Institute's Facebook page on June 5 at 17:30 Siena/ 11:30 NYC.

Ohanjanyan is an internationally recognized Armenian sculptor who since 2000 lives and works between Reggello, Florence and Pietrasanta. We remember among the many important prizes he has earned the Golden Lion for the National Pavilion of Armenia in 2015 for the 56th edition of the Venice Biennale and the "Enrico Marinelli Contemporary Art Award" in 2018 for the work "The Threshold is the source" for the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo in Florence. The sculpture in this image is Ohanjanyan's work from 2019 "Legami #6" (meaning "ties/bonds"). Read more about the artist: http://ohanjanyan.com/.

STARTERS LIVE! is our program of online conversations created to offer perspectives from multiple international artists on the question: what does it mean to be an artist in quarantine times? Despite the painful circumstances that made the creation of this completely digital format useful and necessary, STARTERS LIVE! has been a meaningful experience, an opportunity to find enrichment in difficult times. We all at the Siena Art Institute thank the people who made it possible: from artists to the many members of the public who have tuned in for our broadcasts and demonstrated their appreciation and engagement.
