SAIC Students Visiting the Crete Senesi
We spent a beautiful day in the Crete Senesi with the students and faculty from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's First-Year Scholars Program, hosted by the Siena Art Institute for their winter-term course "Living the Past in the Present". We visited the Abbey of Monte Olivetto Maggiore with amazing architecture and historic fresco paintings . A major highlight was meeting artist Sheppard Craige and experiencing his "Bosco della Ragnaia", a contemporary land art project and sculpture garden.
Many thanks to our creative writing instructor, Jeff Shapiro, for the photos!
