Lots of Activities Underway for SAIC Winter-term Course

We've had a busy week with lots of activities underway for our winter-term course with First Year Scholars from #SAIC, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, "Living the Past in the Present: the Art of Archive" with former Siena Art Institute Project Fellow, Amy Yoes.

In Siena this week students have visited the Cathedral complex (including the Piccolomini Library, Cathedral Museum, Crypt, Panorama, and Baptistry) the City Archives, the Sanctuary of Saint Catherine, the Basilica of San Domenico, Palazzo Pubblico (City Hall) and much more!  We also took a trip to the nearby city of Florence, visiting the restoration workshops and museum of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, the Specola Natural History Museum, and the Museo Galileo!
