Museum Studies Instructor


Maria Minore graduated in History of Art at the University of Rome La Sapienza (1996) and she specialised in the same University with a thesis on Museum and Heritage Education Policies in different countries of Europe (2000). She took a M.Phil in European Studies at the University of Cambridge, UK (2001), studying funding and programmes for culture in the EU.

She then was a Visiting Scholar for the University of Cambridge  and a professor of Museum and Heritage Education at the University of Rome La Sapienza.

She carried out  research in Italy, France, the UK, Mexico and Chile.

Among her field of interests are: museum exhibitions and design; learning in the museum; museums, lifelong learning and social inclusion; management of heritage sites, communities and development processes.

She worked extensively as a consultant for cultural planning in Italy for the Association Mecenate 90 and other bodies, developing network of museums and plans for managing cultural resources. She taught in postgraduate courses for different Italian Universities.

She is currently a teacher of History of Art in the secondary school in Siena, where she also works as an Italian language teacher for foreign students and as a free lance journalist.
