Dejan Atanackovic

Professor of Art, East Exit Program

After completing the studies of painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, Dejan Atanackovic has presented personal exhibitions and curatorial projects in Italy, Serbia, USA, Canada, Bosnia, Albania, Slovenia, while a number of his pieces appeared as part of collective shows in Germany, Switzerland, Mexico and elsewhere. He exhibited his works in cycles entitled Perfect Future (1999-2001), Golem (2003-2004), Orphic Fragments (2006), German Lessons (2010). Some of his curatorial projects include Outside - Art in Education (2001), Infinity Enclosed (2004), Termination Shock (2007), Missing Places (2012). He teaches multimedia art at the US university program SACI (Studio Art Centers International) in Florence and at the Siena Art Institute in Siena. Founder of the Center for International Studies of Arts in Belgrade. Since 2004, he organizes the Outside Project, a student and expert exchange in art education. Since 2009, he develops Belgrade: Another Gaze, a project dedicated to the interpretation of cities through the perspective of marginalized groups. He lives in Belgrade and Florence.
