Accommodation Description:

  • Resident Artists are provided with a private studio apartment in downtown Siena (one double bed).
  • The apartment will be a 20-30 minute walk from our building where the Resident Artist’s studio is located.
  • The apartment will be supplied with linens, basic kitchen utensils and dishes, hot water, electricity, and (during winter months) heating.
  • The apartment does not have air conditioning and artists are responsible for their own meals. 
  • The apartment does have internet access but it is not high-speed.
  • The apartment is non-smoking.  Smoking is not permitted indoors. 
  • The resident artist’s contract specifies that they will not cause any permanent damage to the apartment. The artist will be liable for any damage to the apartment or any lost keys.
  • Invited applicants are requested to inform us as soon as possible of any physical limitations to ensure that suitable accommodation is provided. Most Siena apartments involve flights of stairs and narrow doorways.
  • Resident Artists are not permitted to host overnight guests in their apartment. Resident Artists may be accompanied by their spouse/life-partner with prior approval. The Siena Art Institute is unable to accommodate guests, children, or pets. Funding for travel and the provision of a studio is available for the Resident Artist only.
